Dr. Athear M. Alrawi is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical, surgical, and laser treatment of the eye. Dr. A is a proud 1997 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco in 2002. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Alrawi provides comprehensive eye care including: traditional cataract surgery, LenSx - laser assisted cataract surgery, glaucoma laser surgery, iStent - trabecular micro-bypass stent implantation for open-angle glaucoma, and diabetic eye care. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of ophthalmology and has performed over 10,000 eye surgeries and laser procedures.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first appointment will take approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. During a complete eye exam, we will review your medical and ocular history and will check your vision and eye pressure. In addition, we may also perform a refraction and dilate your eyes. The doctor will then examine your eyes and will review the results of any testing that may have been done. He then will provide his diagnosis and plan regarding your overall eye care.
